With a joie de vivre and a certain je ne sais quoi, Ingrid Ammann translates her
love of cinema and the color-coordinated glory of everyday life into striking editorials
and effective advertising. Genuinely in love with creating a mood, she is not afraid to dig in and WORK! The films of Fritz Lang, Brian De Palma, Stanley Kubrick and the
gorgeous audacity of Federico Fellini and Ken Russell inform and inspire her work. So do the
cheeky brilliance of Elsa Schiaparelli and Vivienne Westwood.
A veteran of the music
industry, the rebelliousness and unexpectedness of
rock n roll infuse her style. On the other hand, she also adores classic elegance and
believes fashion should be fun for all ages and at all price levels.
A Jersey girl by birth, Ingrid moved to New York at 17. On her first day, she knew the City
was all she had ever dreamt it would be. She earned her BFA from the Fashion Institute of
Technology with honors. She started out as a seamstress on photo shoots for Entertainment
Weekly and Barney’s New York. After cutting her teeth, she sharpened them working for Cyndi
Lauper and other luminaries. She dove right into styling and has loved every minute of it
since. Not motivated by personal glory, Ingrid adores being a key team player.
